Tango is a mobile device (running Android), equipped with enough sensors and cameras to make over a quarter of a million 3D measurements every second, which allows users to create full 3D environments wherever the device is in use almost instantaneously.
In this video a man hovers his phone in a room making sure that he misses no spot. Once the room is scanned, the app starts its work and makes a 3D model of the room which is a prefect replica of the scanned room. Moreover, he measured the height of the room using the model.
To help visualize what Project Tango is capable of, a 3D environment is made right before our eyes in the below video, and then the results can be seen once filming is complete.

You can measure the dimensions of your room using google's new Tango. There are many ways in which this technology can be implemented. It's really a game changing technology.
