To Samsung's surprise HTC One M8 and Nokia Lumia 930 survived the Ice Bucket Challenge

Lately, Samsung showered Galaxy S5 with ice water just to show that it is capable of withstanding ice water while on the same hand it also challenged HTC One M8 and Nokia Lumia 930, as part of the Ice Bucket Challenge.

While Samsung was hoping that neither rival could survive the challenge (which made it a great promotional idea on Sammy's part) both the HTC One (M8) and the Nokia Lumia 930 managed to live on past the drenching. See for yourself by clicking the link below.

HTC One (M8) survived because it could

The HTC One (M8) has an IPx3 certification. That means it offers no protection from dust, but does offer protection from water sprayed up to 60 degrees at 10 Liters per minute, pressure of 80-100kN/m2 for up to 5 minutes.

Nokia Lumia 930 just had a lucky shot

The Nokia Lumia 930, as far as I know, is not safe against splashes like the HTC One (M8) is, but still it survived the challenge and took Samsung by surprise.
